Eddie Giacomin was one of the most successful and popular players ever to wear a New York Rangers uniform. He played more than 500 of his 610 regular season games with the Blueshirts and helped the team reach the Stanley Cup finals in 1972. He was placed on the NHL First All-Star Team twice and Second Team three times won the Vezina Trophy for best goaltender in 1971 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987.
