On July 18, 1999 against the Montreal Expos, with Don Larsen in attendance, David Cone became only the 17th pitcher to throw a perfect game. He struck out 10 and it took him only 88 pitches to complete the game. The catcher for the game was Joe Girardi who is now the manager of the New York Yankees.
