Product Details

Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1984, Patrick Roy developed a hockey style that saw him become the winningest goaltender in the history of the National Hockey League. In his rookie season of 1985-86, he played 47 games for the Canadiens and took over the starter's role when the playoffs arrived. By that point in the season, Roy could not be beaten. Montreal won an improbable Stanley Cup in 1986 and Patrick Roy was named recipient of the Conn Smythe Trophy for his outstanding playoff play. Roy, known to fans as "Saint Roy," played in a record 1,029 regular games for the Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche (winning a record 551 of them), and also 247 playoff games (winning a record 151 of them). Roy retired in 2003 with four Stanley Cups to his credit and was enshrined in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2006. Patrick Roy has hand signed this 16x20 photograph of him celebrating on October 17, 2000, after he notched his record-breaking 448th win. A Frozen Pond Certificate of Authenticity is included.
