Ron Blomberg was the First Pick in the 1967 amateur draft by the New York Yankees. He would later become the first Designated Hitter in the American League. His career was plagued with injuries that prevented him from becoming the great hitters he was destined to be. After retiring Blomberg wrote his own book and titled in "Designated Hebrew" referring to his Jewish background. He was also a manager in the inaugural season of the IBL (Israel Baseball League). Ron Blomberg has hand signed this 2008 All Star baseball and added the inscription "1st DH 4/6/73." A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
