March 17th- Marty Brodeur
March 17th
From a collectors standpoint Marty is a must-have autograph. I rarely throw around the term must-have but any avid hockey fan's memorabilia collection is incomplete with the (soon to be) winningest goalie in NHL history. We already offer a tremendous Brodeur product line and are ready to introduce some new pieces once the old record is shattered. We are already accepting pre-orders on these as the signing will be coming up very soon. There will undoubtably be a lot more Brodeur discussion on here in the coming days...Go Devils!

With all that on the horizon I actually decided to focus today's entry on you all- the readers/viewers. As we start to do more and more in this forum with video and audio versus still photos and text (ironically the second we switched to video I decided to write everyday after being bored with it for months) I would love for you all to email me questions for the upcoming athletes. Ideally I would like them to focus on the autograph industry and their signatures but feel free to email any that you have. I will try my best to get a question or two asked and answered on video at each of the upcoming appearances (check back a few posts ago for a complete list).
Anyway, enjoy the weekend...another big week will begin before we know it.

-Thursday March 19th- Danilo Gallinari at Last Licks Armonk. This guy is really starting to come around. There, for the first time in years, are actually a few bright spots (and possibly a light at the end of the tunnel) for the Knicks. Come out, show your support and take a chance on an inexpensive autograph of a possible star in the making.
-Monday March 23rd- Sean Avery, Ryan Callahan, Dan Girardi at Last Licks Manhattan - Rangers signings are always fun. While I am far from a big hockey fan the Rangers fans rank as some of the most passionate ones out there. For those of you who have yet to meet Sean Avery I urge you all to come check it out... he is great.
-Thursday March 26th- Marty Lyons, Kenny Stabler, Cornelius Bennett at Last Licks Manhattan- As I discussed a few posts ago we now are partners with Alabama. We are really enthusiastic about this relationship as there is a gigantic alumni and fan base. We have been doing appearances with Marty for quite some time but this will be the first one focusing on his stellar college career.
-Friday March 27th- Michael O'Keefe at Last Licks Manhattan- O'Keefe played Danny Noonan (or Timmy as Ty Webb calls him in the opening scene) in Caddyshack (one of, if not the, greatest movies of all time). We will be offering Caddyshack posters, golf balls and Bushwood flags to be autographed by Michael... I plan on getting one of each.
-Sunday March 29th- Osi Umeniyora and Michael Strahan at Last Licks Manhattan- These are two of my favorites athletes to work with. Amazingly enough we have never had the pair appear together in public. This is a must attend for any Giants fan...especially those who do not yet own an Osi/Strahan dual signed over Brady photo.
As you can see the next few weeks will be jam-packed (not only at our stores but also at the Beacon Theater with 13 nights of Allman Brothers remaining- the last two shows were nothing short of legendary with guest spots by Taj Mahal, Levon Helm, Larry Campbell, Johnny Winter and David Hidalgo plus others...) I am as enthusastic about a few weeks in March as I have ever been in this industry...Hope to see you all at a few of the appearances.

In the past I never discussed pricing...but now - with all the unbelievable reasonably priced new pieces that we have created I figured it was time to break that trend. I/we are incredibly charged up about a new portion of this site simply called "Great Gifts Under $100". There is a section for unsigned pieces as well as signed product. Ironically we are even more excited about the unsigned offers than the autographed pieces. Last week I touched upon the Dallas Cowboys turf plaques and the Yankee Stadium dirt collages. Not only do we offer these (most of which are priced anywhere from $29.99 to $99.99) but we also have Syracuse Carrier Dome Court Plaques and dynamite unsigned framed final game at Shea Stadium pieces. The sharpest of all these items, in my humble opinion, is the Yankee Stadium Final Season Dirt Crystal paperweight. These collectibles (considering the current economic state) really make the perfect gifts for birthdays, Fathers Day and graduations (the latter two are coming up sooner than we realize- it was in the 60's this weekend!) While we always have and will continue to offer high end unique memorabilia - including game used, vintage, multi-signed, etc.- these affordable pieces of history are quickly becoming an integral part of our product line. One last note on this topic...We are only a few weeks away from Opening Day at the new Yankee Stadium... and that means new dirt. All of these classic, staple dirt pieces will once again be revisited using the first dirt from the very first home stand at the new cathedral (the Mets fan in me didn't want to use that noun but figured you would all appreciate me calling it that)... so be on the look out for an entirely distinct line of new Yankee Stadium collectibles.

Over the past five days we have had three WWE appearances/signings...each topping the previous one in terms of both turn out and positive feedback from the customers. It started Saturday with CM Punk, continued Sunday with Shawn Michaels and the trifecta was concluded last night with an historic event starring Jeff Hardy.
I call it historic because it was the first and definitely last (considering our move in a few weeks) public signing at our corporate office. Five-hundred plus people flocked to our mall and with all hands on deck it was a total success. I could not believe how many people came to these signings but truth be told it is the norm when one of these WWE stars appears. These stars are larger than life and the marketing team at WWE has created an incredible brand around them. Practically every customer had a Jeff Hardy t-shirt and/or armband(s) and many brought their own magazines/posters or DVDs to be autographed. Hardy, as well as Michaels and Punk, really do endear themselves to the fanbase by giving the customers real facetime and a little bit extra than the typical celebrity...to use a phrase thrown around here a lot - they get it...it being that the fans are what matters most. These WWE stars seem as genuinely appreciative of their fanbase as anyone I have ever worked with and personally I am hoping we have a lot more of these events in the upcoming months.
Anyway, enjoy the video and photos as they should be up shortly.

March 4th
These past few weeks have been a whirlwind (there will be some videos going up shortly). Since I last posted I have done signings with Gene Stallings, Magic Johnson, Derek Jeter, Joe Frazier, Phil Simms, Eli Manning, Henrik Lundqvist, Mike Richter and OJ Anderson...plus a public appearance with wrestling icon Shawn Michaels. In the middle of all those signings we have been cranking away at our office on exciting new deals (such as the Alabama/Steiner partnership...thus the Gene Stallings signing) as well as preparing for our move to a bigger, better facility which is going down in a few weeks.
One of the most exhilarating of our newest ventures is, by far, the Cowboys/Steiner partnership. Aside from an astounding array of game used jerseys, pants and locker room chairs we are markedly delighted to now offer game used Cowboys Stadium turf plaques. It is one of our hottest sellers right now and fits right along with where this industry (in this economy) is at right now...an affordable piece of history. The Cowboys in essence (as much as it pains me to say it) are the Yankees (..ironically two teams you could not pay me enough to root for), as are Notre Dame. All three franchises transcend sports and are as much a part of pop culture as they are a part of their respective leagues. We proudly have relationships with all three institutions and offer affordable historical pieces for each. Towards the end of last year I spoke about the Yankee Stadium dirt collages. We are still cranking through an impressive amount of dirt each day and it remains a top seller. The turf is an absolute must have item for any Cowboys fan...just as the dirt is for a Yankee fan. With all that in mind the Yankees are less than six weeks away from opening up their new stadium. There will be quite a bit to talk about on here relating to the demolition of the old stadium... as well as collectibles from the new stadium. As the weeks go on look for a lot more on stirring new product releases and a whole lot more as we count down to opening day.
This evening we have a public appearance with wrestling mega-star Jeff Hardy. Originally the signing was to be held at Last Licks Armonk but due to the ridiculously cold weather we have moved the 6:00 PM event to our corporate office. (I remember in high school waiting on line for Pink Floyd tickets in a blizzard..pre-dates Internet ticket sales..anyone remember the numbered wristbands?)
Anyway, there will be some video up shortly and a lot more to come in the next few days....
