Ichiro Suzuki played for the Seattle Mariners from 2001-2012. He still remains a fan favorite in the city of Seattle. He was greeted with a massive standing ovation every time he came up to bat yesterday when the Miami Marlins took on the Seattle Mariners in Seattle.
This is most likely Ichiro's final time playing in Seattle, and if this does end up being his final time playing there he certainly made the most of his final plate appearance. With his team trailing 4-10 in the top of the ninth Ichiro stepped up and drove one over the right field wall.
The fans went crazy. The Mariners fan who caught the ball knew how much this moment meant to Ichiro and didn't hesitate to return it. The fan didn't walk away empty handed though, he received a signed bat from Ichiro.
