Announced: NBA's MVP...of "Shaqtin' A Fool"

The Most Valuable Player of the hit segment "Shaqtin' A Fool" was announced last night during Inside the NBA. Shaquille O'Neal hosts the show regularly with guests like Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, Chris Webber, Grant Hill, Steve Smith, and Matt Winer. They highlight humorous plays that have occurred during NBA games throughout the season.

The "Shaqtin' A Fool Most Valuable Player" is presented at the "Shaqtin' A Fool" special during the conclusion of the NBA Playoffs. The MVP was narrowed down to a few candidates. The finalists were listed based on how often they showed up on the segment throughout the season, and how classic their "Shaqtin'" moments were.

They announced the player who had some hysterical moments this season. And so, without further ado, Russell Westbrook is your 2016-2017 "Shaqtin' A Fool" MVP!

Westbrook had quite an impressive campaign on the court this year. He notched a record-setting 42 triple-doubles throughout the season, was in the top 10 in total rebounds (as a Point Guard!), and scored more points than anyone in the NBA. However, Shaquille O'Neal didn't let that distract him from the fact that he had several extremely hilarious blunders mixed in there as well.

O'Neal made it clear that JaVale McGee would not be the MVP of "Shaqtin'" this season after the two had a major dispute on Twitter in February. McGee made the show countless times over the past few seasons.  In fact, he won the MVP twice for his blooper-reel plays. His frequent appearances caused a feud between the two, which led to the viral exchange on Twitter. As a result, Shaq has vowed that McGee's name would "never come out of his mouth again."

Regardless, "Shaqtin'" has been a wildly successful segment, and it provides us viewers with some humor to serve as a nice mix from the usual commentary of the game. Besides Russ' moments, here are the Top 5 Shaqtin' plays of 2016-2017:

So, "Thank You" to Russell Westbrook and the rest of the nominated players this season for all of these classic moments. And, "Thank You" to Shaquille O'Neal and the cast of "Shaqtin' A Fool" for all the laughs.

Who is your selection to win the "real" NBA MVP award on June 26th? 🤔
