Jerry Maguire Released 20 Years Ago Today

When factoring for inflation, Jerry Maguire was the second-highest grossing sports movie of all-time when it debuted (on this day) in 1996, and for good reason. The film that added another notable notch to actor Tom Cruise's stellar resume, and produced perhaps his most-quoted line, "Show me the money!" has been a classic watch for sports fans across the country.

The plot of the movie follows Jerry Maguire (played by Cruise and loosely based on real-life super-agent Leigh Steinberg) as he goes on a crusade of sorts to revive the sports agent industry by: "Fewer clients. Less money. More attention. Caring for them, caring for ourselves and the games, too."
