Tim Tebow has hit a home run. Yes, you read that right.
Okay, maybe it wasn't a Major League game, but it was certainly against live pitching, and with all of the hoopla surrounding the former Heisman Trophy winner's new career path as a baseball player, it's impressive to think that after 12 years off from the sport anybody could essentially pick up a bat after a few workouts and smack a baseball a few hundred feet.
Neigh-sayers will cite Tebow's advanced age, 29 (in baseball terms), still-awkward throwing motion and other mechanical issues as hindrances to any serious chance at ever joining a Major League roster. But, Tebow is a New York Mets prospect. As much of a longshot as it might be he will remain just that until he decides to hang up his cleats- a prospect with a chance and a dream to make it to The Show.
