It's official: the NHL is officially headed to Las Vegas. The league announced today.
The Las Vegas franchise will be the league's 31st team and will begin play at the start of the 2017-18 NHL season.

This major move for hockey may signal another trigger another set of dominos to fall. It has long been discussed that the NFL's Oakland Raiders may be headed to Las Vegas and the NBA has kept an eye on the city, as well, as a potential suitor for an expansion team or new franchise. The NBA held its 2007 All-Star Game in Sin City.
