The 33rd manager in New York Yankees franchise history, Aaron Boone was hired after the conclusion of the 2017 season,  as Boone made his way from baseball analyst for ESPN To the dugout. Boone comes from quite the baseball pedigree, with his grandfather, father, and brother all having extensive major league service time. Boone spent the majority of his 13-year major league career with the Cinncinatti Reds where he was an all-star. The biggest moment of his major league career would come after a mid-season trade to the New York Yankees in 2003, as it was Boone who hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to beat the hated Boston Red Sox in game 7 of the 2003 American League championship series.
