Chris Hogan's journey to NFL stardom began at an unlikely venue, the lacrosse field at Penn State University. As a high school athlete Hogan was all-state in Lacrosse & Football at Ramapo High School. During his senior year, Hogan accepted a lacrosse scholarship from Penn State where he would go on to play 3 years of lacrosse for the Nittany Lions.

After his senior season at Penn State and 1 year of athletic eligibility remaining due to an injury that forced Hogan to sit out a year of lacrosse, Chris decided to leave the game of lacrosse behind and join the football team at Monmouth University as a graduate student.

While at Monmouth, Hogan's size and athletic ability caught the eye of some NFL scouts, although that interest would not be enough to see him selected during the 2011 NFL. Later that summer Hogan would sign with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent. His stint was short lived with the "9'ers" as he was released and would to have brief practice squad stints with the Giants and Dolphins.

In 2012 Hogan was able to secure a spot as a wide receiver with the Buffalo Bills and would spend the next 4 years in Orchard Park. Those four seasons in Buffalo would impress the rival New England Patriots enough to offer Hogan a three year $12 million dollar contract before the start of the 2016 season. In his first two seasons, Hogan has had 70 catches and 9 touchdowns for over 1,000 yards while being a key member of the New England Patriots prolific offense.
