One of the best players in all of sports on the playing surface and in the media

Sidney Crosby was born in Nova Scotia, Canada to family who was full of hockey admiration. His father was a goaltender who was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens but never made it to the NHL level. Crosby began playing hockey at the age of two in his basement. As he got a little big older, he would start to take hockey extremely seriously as he transferred schools while just in middle school. Crosby was so talented that he was playing for his new school while also playing for a team in the QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League).

Crosby would be selected first overall when he started his Junior’s career. He would be a star from the get-go, as he was the leading point scorer, the rookie of the year, and the league MVP—becoming the first person to ever win all three awards in the same season. After some thought, Crosby decided to enter his name in the NHL draft, even though he was drafter first overall in the World Hockey Association, which was a league which tried to rival the NHL.

The choice to join the NHL was a good one as he would be drafted first overall for another time in his career, this time by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2005 NHL Draft. He would have no issue transitioning into the league, as he would be the youngest player in history to have a 100 point season. He would just continue to shine year in and year out as he would lead the famed franchise to three Stanley Cup championships, and he does not seem to be slowing down any time soon.

Crosby is a once in a generation player and just keeps showing day in and day out why he was the first overall pick back in that 2005 draft. He has gone on to win two playoff MVP trophy’s, has been selected to 8 all-star games, two regular season MVP trophy’s, and has also led team Canada to two gold medals.

When it comes to hockey royalty, Sidney Crosby is the first name that comes to mind, so do not miss out on your chance to have some of his autographed gear. We have signed jerseys, skates, photos, pucks, and more!
