At just 18 years old, Hagens has already put together a solid resume. Known for his quickness and extremely advanced athletic ability to not only capitalize on gaps in coverage, but also evade defenders and keep defenders guessing, Hagens has already shown that he can perform on the big stage. Prior to skating for Boston College, Hagens spent the last two seasons playing for USNTDP where his 187 total points ranked as the fifth-most in program history. At the IIHF U-18 Men's World Championship in 2024 Hagens broke the scoring record with 22 points (9 goals and 13 assists) in helping Team USA to a silver medal while being named tournament MVP. Hagens' solid play earned him multiple scholarships to play at Boston College, where in his first season he was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.
