About the Boston Bruins
Established in 1924, the Boston Bruins were the first American team to join the NHL. The team won their first Stanley Cup in 1929 against the New York Rangers- a historic game since it was the first time the championship featured two American teams. The early team consisted of Hall of Fame members Eddie Shore, Cecil (“Tiny”) Thompson, and Aubrey (“Dit”) Clapper who, along with goalie Frank Brimsek, helped lead the team to win 2 more Stanley Cups.
The team participated in five more Stanley Cup finals between 1943 and 1958, but did not take home the cup. After being cold for quite some time, players Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito came into the picture and brought the team back to life. They led the Bruins to the 1970 and 1972 Stanley Cup. Shortly after, defenseman Ray Bourque came onto the scene and instantaneously became the new face of the franchise. Bourque helped lead the team to their 29 consecutive playoff appearances between 1968 and 1996.
Most recently, the team has made it to the 2018-19 Stanley Cup Finals along with the St. Louis Blues. The Bruins have top players such as goaltender Tuukka Rask, Zdeno Chara, Patrice Bergeron and David Backes. Having autographed memorabilia from any Bruins player, new or old, is certainly something every fan should have; Whether it is a home or in the office, these collectable items will be a great addition to your space and keep the Bruins spirit alive wherever you are.
