Ruth started his career as a fantastic pitcher with the Boston Red Sox, and then was traded to the Yankees and became the most feared slugger in baseball, becoming the first batter to popularize the home run. Gehrigs freakish skills allowed him to hit for both power and average winning the Triple Crown in 1934 with a .363 average 49 HR and 165 RBI. A six-time World Series Champion Gehrig was inducted into baseballs Hall of Fame in 1939.
