Jon Lester is a survivor. Drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2002 Lester quickly rose through the Sox' farm system and was considered one of baseball's top pitching prospects. However just a few weeks after being called up to the big team in July 2006 tests revealed that Lester had lymphoma. Lester persevered made a full recovery and helped the Red Sox close out the 2007 World Series pitching the final game. Lester continued to amaze the following season when he threw a no-hitter on May 19 2008.Lester was a major part of the Red Sox rotation.
