This 1985 SI Magazine photo has been signed by Mickey Mantle Willie Mays, and former Commissioner of Baseball Peter Ueberroth.

From 1951 when he hit .267 as a 19-year-old Yankees rookie from Oklahoma through 1968 when he belted the last of his 536 career home runs Mickey Mantle captured the imagination of a generation. A three-time Most Valuable Player Mantle won the Triple Crown in 1956 with a .353 BA 52 HR and 130 RBI. Despite being plagued by injuries he hit over .300 10 times and played in 12 World Series for a team that won seven World Championships during his career.

Willie Mays is considered to be one of the best baseball players to ever play the game. Many acknowledge him to be the finest five-tool player ever. Known as the Say Hey Kid Mays has won two MVP awards and shares the record for the most All-Star games played with 24 with Hank Aaron and Stan Musial and another baseball legend Ted Williams has even been quoted in saying They invented the All-Star game for Willie Mays. Mays is also one of the only National League players to have eight consecutive 100-RBI seasons and he has also hit over 50 home runs in 1955 and 1965 making it the longest time span between 50- plus home run seasons for any player in MLB history.
