Ron Blomberg MLB Baseball w/ Once a Yankee Always a Yankee insc
Ron Blomberg was a baseball pioneer. Taken with the first selection in the 1967 amateur draft by the New York Yankees he would solidify his place in baseball lore when he became the American Leagues first Designated Hitter. On April 6 1973 against the Red Sox Blomberg walked in his first appearance as a DH. Plagued with injuries throughout his career the DH spot allowed him to play as long as he did. He recounted his experiences in the big leagues and his Jewish heritage in his 2006 biography Designated Hebrew. Ron Blomberg has hand signed this MLB baseball and added the inscription Once a Yankee Always a Yankee.' A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
