Randy Moss was one of the most unstoppable receivers to ever play the game of football.

Randy Moss was born in Charleston, West Virginia and would go on to grow up in West Virginia as well. Moss was an all around super star athlete. In high school, he was the star of the football team, basketball team, baseball team, and track team, respectfully. He led the track team and football team to state championships, while also winning the player of the year award twice in basketball. In fact, Randy Moss is recognized as one of the top 50 high school athletes of all time.

Moss would decide to take football on for a lifestyle, and he chose to further his career at Marshall University, which was just an hour away from his hometown in West Virginia.  Moss would start off with a bang by breaking multiple school receiving records, as well as leading the team to an undefeated season and a championship. Moss continued to mash as his college career went on. He would go on to score more times than the amount of games he played in. He also was awarded with the nation’s best receiver award and was a finalist for the 1997 Heisman Trophy—for the nation’s best overall player.

Moss would enter the 1998 NFL Draft and be selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round. Moss had one of the most electric and productive seasons of all time—not just for a rookie—in his first year in the league. He helped lead the Vikings to a 15-1 record by scoring 17 times and having more than 1,300 receiving yards! He would go on to win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award by a landslide. Moss would put up numbers with similar productivity every season that he was in the league, and whichever team he was playing for always seemed to at least be within a shot of the playoffs if they were not actually making a deep run into the postseason.

Randy Moss has one of the most impressive statlines in the history of the NFL. He holds multiple NFL records which include, but are not limited to, most touchdown receptions in a season, most seasons with 17 or more touchdown receptions, and most 1,200 yard seasons to begin a career. Moss was also recognized with 6 Pro Bowl appearances, 4 NFL All-Pro first team appearances, as well as being named to the NFL 2000’s All-Decade Team.
